Decorating Sparklers with Ribbons

Sparklers with RibbonsMany brides are choosing to have sparklers at their wedding, which has led to a flurry of different sizes, shapes, and colors of sparkler options from which to choose. Once limited to packaging designed for the 4th of July and New Year’s, manufacturers have started to package sparklers specifically for wedding in elegant and tasteful boxes. However, if you are like most brides, you are probably interested in something a little more decorative than bland sparkler boxes scattered around your reception hall. Below, you will find a few ways to decorate your 36” sparklers using ribbon to really enhance their appearance and blend beautifully into your wedding decorations.

Simple Wrap

The easiest and most common way of decorating sparklers with ribbons is to simply tie a section of ribbon around the sparkler in a decorative bow. The best sparklers to use for this job are 36” wedding sparklers because they are long enough to be handled easily and burn for over 3 minutes each. To accomplish a simple ribbon wrap, you simply cut about one foot of your favorite colored ribbon and carefully tie it approximately 6 inches down from the top of the sparkler. Optionally, you can attach a small tag or card to the ribbons on your 36” wedding sparklers that includes the names of the bride and groom, the wedding date, or instructions on how and when to use the wedding sparklers.

To display your sparklers wrapped in ribbons, you can place them in a large vase in a highly visible area. Many couples place a small sign on the vase, and weight it down using dragon tears, glass beads, or another decorative type of rock to keep it steady while still being elegant. Your guests can then take some 36” wedding sparklers as they pass by the display and wait to use them until the appropriate time.

Hanging from Ribbons

A less common, but equally elegant, way to incorporate ribbons into your decorations is to hang sparklers from the ribbons themselves. You can find an area above the entrance tables to string some durable ribbon across, and then clip your 36” wedding sparklers onto the ribbon using attractive clips or clothespins. The result will be a very functional yet visually appealing way to distribute your sparklers without the time and effort required in wrapping each one individually. Using sparkler tags for this purpose is also an excellent way to dress up the sparklers with relatively little effort.

Regardless of which method you choose, decorating sparklers with ribbons is a great way to add a custom touch to your wedding. Whichever way you go, your 36” wedding sparklers will certainly benefit from the extra charm and flare that ribbons provide to their look.
